These students perform additional live shows throughout the year. All students in the Performance Program have the opportunity to audition for a spot in School of Rock House Band. Once selected\, House Band members become leaders in their School of Rock community and perform live shows at CT rock venues throughout the year. \nPerformance is the core of School of Rock’s educational approach. Therefore\, we create additional opportunities for students to perform on stages throughout New Canaan and the rest of CT. The House Band music program allows each school’s most talented students the opportunity to join a band and play routinely in front of live audiences. Once a member\, students will gain real music experience associated with gigging musicians and will become leaders and mentors inside the School of Rock community.

Influences like Bukka White and Junior Kimbrough\, Orb Mellon performs pure\, sonically aggressive\, and ever transforming original folk blues. Orb has performed extensively sharing the stage with David Johansen (NY Dolls)\, Daddy Long Legs\, Charlie Parr\, R.L.Boyce and Brownbird Rudy Relic. In 2018\, Orb Mellon was a feature performer at the Montreal International Jazz Festival. \nOrb Mellon has released 3 full length albums and 3 EPs and his work has been featured in regional\, national\, and international press and have been included in feature films and television shows such as FX’s “Justified\,” the feature films “Kill For Me\,”\, “True Blood\,” and “Extant” staring Halle Berry. Also CBS drama “The Good Wife\,” the BBC’s “The Intruders\,” and AT&T’s “Mr. Mercedes.”\n\nDave Robbins has been performing throughout New England with various Blues Bands for many years.
