These students perform additional live shows throughout the year. All students in the Performance Program have the opportunity to audition for a spot in School of Rock New Canaan’s House Band. Once selected\, House Band members become leaders in their School of Rock community and perform live shows at CT rock venues throughout the year. \nPerformance is the core of School of Rock’s educational approach. Therefore\, we create additional opportunities for students to perform on stages throughout New Canaan and the rest of CT. The House Band music program allows each school’s most talented students the opportunity to join a band and play routinely in front of live audiences. Once a member\, students will gain real music experience associated with gigging musicians and will become leaders and mentors inside the School of Rock community.

They met through chance encounters at local gigs\, where their mutual admiration for each other’s talent sparked the idea of forming a band that would push the boundaries of rock music. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn their small\, cluttered practice space\, located in the heart of Wilton\, they began crafting their sound. The Elastic Edge sought to infuse their music with the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll legends of the past\, while simultaneously creating a fresh and modern sound. Drawing inspiration from their collective experiences and the diverse music they grew up listening to\, they embarked on a musical journey to redefine the rock genre.

DESCRIPTION:Joe K is a 28 year old singer/songwriter from New York’s Hudson Valley. He began his career playing folk music including work with such luminaries as Pete Seeger. Joe spent most of his twenties playing bars\, restaurants\, living rooms\, Christmas parties\, you name it\, in and around the NYC area.\nIn 2020 during quarantine he recorded and mixed the Insomnia EP in his Bronx apartment\, with the help of many a bored and gigless musical friend. Insomnia combines elements of indie\, funk\, pop\, folk and lo fi and explores restlessness\, loneliness and redemption.

Yes this group has been to therapy and back to keep their high energy show going all these years. \n2022 brings their 6th full-length independent CD release to the masses. Tracks off this new CD Wings To Fly are eclectic\, more raw then their pervious releases and include some solid country-rock tunes such as Ride With Me & Life On The Road and some funky-blues-rock tunes like Want What I Want and It Ain’t You.
